About the Authors and Illustrator
Kaulana Dameg was born in Wailuku, Maui, and raised in Hilo. She graduated from University of Hawai‘i–Hilo with a BA in anthropology and Hawaiian studies.

Māhealani Kobashigawa is from Kahalu‘u, O‘ahu, and holds a BA in Hawaiian studies from University of Hawai‘i–Hilo.

Eve Furchgott is an artist and graphic designer living in Hakalau on Hawai‘i Island. She has won awards in fine arts and has been growing her graphics business, Blue Heron Multimedia, since the mid-1980s.
